On October 31, 2025, Professor Alicia Fedor led the first session of the 2025-2026 cycle of the Chairs on Hungary, its culture, language, and people, focusing on the Hungarian language.
The session, held at Casa VEHU, was fully attended, marking a very successful start for this new cycle of chairs, which will continue until early summer 2026, taking place on the last Friday of each month.
A unique perspective on the Hungarian language
The chairs are not formal language classes. Instead, they are a special space to discuss and engage with the language, its culture, traditions, history, and current realities. According to Prof. Fedor, learning a language is learning to love it, as languages are like living beings: they are born, grow, and require care and attention throughout their life.
As tradition holds, after the session there was a social gathering, where participants contributed drinks and snacks, strengthening community ties and interaction.
A cycle that continues
This cycle promises enriching moments exploring Hungarian culture, language, and history, offering a space for learning, dialogue, and appreciation of the Hungarian language. We invite everyone interested to join the upcoming sessions and enjoy these enriching experiences.
